The quote for Day 6 of Ramadan from my box of things
to think about is:
“He does not refuse sustenance to the one who speaks ill of Him. How
could then He refuse sustenance to the one whose soul is over flowing for Him?”
Who could not be in awe of Rabia Basri – existing into the
toughest of circumstances for a women and yet revered across the world for her
intense love of Allah (SWT). Another reminder that Allah (SWT) provides and
that we should not be fearful for our sustenance or for our needs to be met.
How much of what a we do is driven by a fear that we don’t have
enough, or that what we have might not last?
It is so freeing to put that to one side in the trust that our rizq (sustenance)
is written and we don’t have to live in fear of a situation (losing a job) or
person (displeasing a boss) regarding it.
