Long Leopard Necklace

I found these beads on an old belt I has no use for. I usually avoid chunky acrylic beads as they look cheap, but I liked the way these colours worked together. Also where the beads are faceted like crystals, they look a little bit classier.

I threaded this together with some help from Little Man (as some of the beads had large holes) and we both enjoyed ourselves.

I wore it today with a black abaya and shayla and leopard print shoes.

  2. Assalam-alaikam Sister HA,
I knew you would like the shoes. I love it when someone sees me all in black and looks down their nose at me, then the get to the feet and do a double take! Its good to challenge assumptions and perceptions. If we make people think, they might have to question their prejudices. Thats my excuse for wearing heels anyway...

    wa 'alaykum as salam

I never even liked heels before I accepted Islam. I really do like platforms however. I linked Hijabi to an article about how we walk wrong and how it mentioned that two of the worst shoes are running shoes and heels. http://nymag.com/health/features/46213/

Also, could you email my your email addy @ ummlayth @ gmail.com. I would like to talk to you about the Muslimahs Speak Up Carnival that is coming up insha'Allah.
