Visit To Scotland (Summer 2013): Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery

Our first stop during our trip to Scotland was recommended by our host and we thought it would be nice to do something gentle and easy after a day wandering around in the Lake District.  We headed to Kelvingrove Museum and Art History which was an interesting mix of modern and traditional art, sculpture, local history, natural history and world history and art.

I am a big fan of the artist and architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh who hails from Glasgow.  The Museum had a few pieces of his work in their "The Glasgow Boys" Gallery including the glass pane with the stylised rose he is known for and the tall square chair below.  There is a museum dedicated to him in Glasgow which I would love to visit.
