Last of the Boot Sales

I wasn't expecting to see any more boot sales this year as they usually start winding up around now as the mornings get darker and the days colder. The better half suggested this morning that we leave the kids asleep with the brother-in-law to keep an eye on them and see if we could bag any bargains. It was still dark when we got to Dunton market at 7am, but I managed to find a few things.

I picked up these artists materials for £2 (including Crimson and Blake pads which have the loveliest textured paper ) and the brand new sealed filofax for 50p (rrp £59) which will probably be gifted to someone, I have a thing about organisers but I am rather attached to mine.

I found this very pretty broach for 50p; it's quite different from anything I have seen before as the beads are mounted on felt.

I threw away all my skin make-up a few months ago as it was from my wedding (nine years ago!!) and I hadn't used it for years as I don't like the feel of foundation on my skin. I was considering buying some more of the same brand perhaps to use for my brothers wedding in March (insh'Allah) and found a stall selling only new Boots No7 brand make-up. I bouth the radiant glow foundation (rrp £15 approx), foundation mousse (rrp £11) and pressed powder (rrp £10.50) for £2 each. The colours appear dark enough and strangely the lady only seemed to have colours dark enough for black and Asian skin. Will have to test and see. The cleanser is the one I use and had nearly run out of and costs 50p for a full bottle (usually costs £8).

I bought this for Little Lady for 50p and stashed it as a treat for good behaviour.

This was my favourite. The picture does not do the little jacket justice as it is really very small (for a six month old baby). My husband bought this for our newest little nephew in Pakistan and I shall post it to him on Eid insh'Allah.
I doubt there will be any more half decent markets this year, so I am glad I enjoyed this one.

  3. Assalam-alaikam,

    Umm Hibatt,
maybe you should start a trend for them in Saudi, then again, I'm not sure how that would work out there...

    Sis Rainbow,
who else has been booting, I'm curious?
