Eid-ul-Fitr 2012/1433 Eid Banners

I wanted to make some bunting for Eid, but get tired so easily at the moment and can't sit for long, so made it  easier for myself and designed it on MS Word and printed onto white card.  The colours came out better than expected (the colour scheme is one called Metro on MS 2007).

I ended up taking ages trimming out the letters on my paper trimmer anyway, so not sure if this way was quicker.

I ended up with two sets of lettering and some spacers to decorate.

I embellished with matched gems and glued to some bright -blue ribbon (would have liked to do one with hot pink ribbon, but didn't have any).

The plain triangles in between words and the ends were supposed to be embellished, but after much experimenting I decided it looked better plain.  (you can see previous, more heavily embellished versions here, here, here, here, here and here - phew, didn't realise I had made so many!).

  1. Salaam. Love the banners and posters. Very festive! Where do you buy the gems from? I want to jazz up a baby book I'm working on and was wondering where you got them from.
